Ferry port, Calais, France, 2012

Industrial environment are one of my favourites as they are always full of unexpected surprises. They seem to strangely marry grand scales to subtle details. The violence of brutal shapes is often translated through fascinating worn-out textures. But, for some reason, when machines stop, they seem to emit a tranquil immobility that makes you think about their lives, about the people evolving around them often in tough conditions and this creates scenic views and atmospheres.
